This past weekend I volunteered for the Greater Columbus Sports Commission during the 2015 NHL All-Star Event. During the Fan Fair, which started on Thursday, several events took place. There was a 45 foot snow slide, concession tent, Kid's Zone, several fire pits for smores and to warm up, entertainment tent that provided drinks, VIP section and music. Also, a skating rink was available. I worked the Kid's Zone where several event took place. One event in specific consisted of wooden lockers with Columbus Blue Jacket jerseys, players gloves and helmets where spectators could put on the gloves and helmets and take photos. I simply made sure gloves and helmets were not stolen and it was properly going smoothly. I also worked the entertainment tent where I handed out visitor guides and answered any questions that needed to be addressed from spectators. I worked the snow slide at one point by making sure it went smoothly and had the privilege of pushing kid's and adults down the slide, which was a lot of fun. Overall it was a great, organized event that I was privileged to work.
